Scale – Weekly photo challenge

Bumblebee on thistle

This weeks photo challenge is scale (https://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_photo_challenge/scale/). I love bees. They are one of natures little wonders. These beautiful creatures are responsible for pollinating much of the food we eat – fruit, vegetables, spices, even coffee and cocoa. In fact, the production of more than three-quarters of world crops depend on insect pollination. So next time you see a tiny, little bee, think of what it does for the human race.

    1. In Ireland about 78% are solitary bees – so 85% sounds about right for UK (world-wide the figure is 95%) – another fascinating group!
