A Limerick

In my mind I have traveled far

Through lives, loss, love and war

Innocence, ignorance and dreams

Kaleidoscope or so it seems

For life’s a journey to a shooting star

Above is my contribution to day two of the Writing 201 Poetry in which the prompt is Journey. We take so many journeys but the ones that go on inside my head are the ones that I wanted to focus on here. Today’s suggested form was a Limerick. Having to find rhymes can sometimes be liberating, sometimes frustrating. When I get frustrated I often turn to free online rhyming dictionaries (e.g. www.rhymer.com) – which sometimes bring a poem in totally the opposite direction that you thought.
