Brackloon woods, near Westport, Co Mayo (Ireland) is a place in harmony with nature. Moss grows in thick carpets on the woodland floor and on the oak trees. And nestled among its cushioned blankets are little polypodium ferns and wood sorrel leaves just beginning to emerge.

So, is the moss a habitat most attractive to the sorrel?

Usually the sorrel grows on the woodland floor as apposed to a mossy stump!
